YoungBoy Never Broke Again continues to show his resilience and dedication to the music industry with his latest release, I Rest My Case. The 19-track project features no guest appearances and includes previously released singles “Top Girls”, “Black” and “Groovy.” This marks YB's first release under Motown Records since leaving Atlantic Records at the end of last year after a tumultuous relationship between him and the label.
The rapper has been very vocal about not wanting to be associated with Atlantic anymore due to their lack of support for him as an artist; in a note he wrote: "I don't give a f**k you still can't stop me don't sign [to] Atlantic if you're an artist they won't support." His move away from them is indicative of his strength as an independent musician who is determined on succeeding regardless of any external obstacles that come in his way.
With I Rest My Case being yet another successful project released by YoungBoy Never Broke Again this year alone, it's clear that he will continue making waves within hip hop despite any hardships he may have faced in the past or present day. He proves time again that hard work pays off - something many aspiring musicians should take heed from!Contributor; Todd Richardson
